Seth Kaplan- (AKA- Bluberry) President / Organizer
Seth was born in Dallas, TX and as a child lived many places. By the age of 10 he lived in Texas, San Francisco, Minnesota, and Oklahoma, where his family settled. In Norman, OK his family opened Subway franchises, were he started as a sandwich artist and worked his way to an Office/Equipment Manager. After his family sold their business in Norman, Seth moved to Richmond to work in the Carpentry field. As soon as he arrived in RvA, Seth discovered the vibrant music scene. For many years Seth had followed many prominant bands, this passion for live music and vast knowledge led to a perfect fit for Project 1. Many of his favorite artist have done charitable work, which inspired him to follow in their footsteps.
Scotty Ellett- (AKA- Scottzilla) VP / Director / Artist
Scott (aka "Zilla") Ellett was born and raised in Richmond, VA. After high school he began to hang out around the city to explore his musical talent. Eight years passed by as he became a part of the great music scene in Richmond. Through the years he has played in many bands, and made many friends. Currently he plays in The Spaceheaters, a spacey-jam-band based in Richmond, and records his own music. Scott is an artist, a poet, a musician, a dancer, a writer, and lover of life. Naturally a good soul, he crossed the path of Toni, Seth, and Cara at some point, becoming their friend. He heard the idea for Project 1, and jumped aboard. The rest is history.
Cara Diggins- (AKA- Ramblin' Rose) Secretary / Hoop Dancer / Artist
Cara is a military brat who’s moved from Germany to Italy, and then finally settled in Virginia. She comes from a musically inclined, as well as artistic family. This has led her to be involved in both the music and art scene. This journey contributed to her vast knowledge of local bands. Art is the medium that brought her to Richmond. In 2005, Cara began attending college at Richmond's VCU. Music has helped her connect with her friends and phamily all along the east coast. She is studying to be an Art and Special Education Teacher, and currently working at the Children’s Museum of Richmond.
"My influences include many from Reggae Music itself, such as Tanya Stephens, Steel Pulse, Bob Marley, as well as local bands like Crucial Elements, Antero, and The Transmitters. People that inspire me are found in my everyday life whether they’re Tonibear, the youth, or complete strangers of which who need a helping hand."
Toni Davy- (AKA- Atalya Gavriela) Treasurer / Hoop Dancer / Artist
Toni Davy grew up in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvannia. At the age of 18, Toni signed up for the US Navy, which took her to Fighter Squadron 154 in Atsugi, Japan where she spent 3.5 years working as an Aviation Structural and Hydraulic Mechanic on F-14 Tomcats. Although she loved her oppertunity to travel the world, she opted to leave active duty in the fall of 2003 to attend college. She left Pennsylvania in December of 2003 and moved to Midlothian, VA. In the Spring of 2005 she again moved, but this time to the Carytown section of Richmond, VA. This new location gave her pleanty of oppertunity to get well aquanted with the local music scene. Toni volunteered in 2005 and 2006 at Dogwood Dell for the summer music series. She first worked in security, but her facination with sound led her to the assistant sound engineer position. During this time she also briefly worked marketing with the bluegrass band Jackass Flats. In the Winter of 2007 she again had the oppertunity to work sound, but this time as the Second Engineer in the studio for the reggae band, Crucial Elements', Demo CD. In 2007, Toni received her BS in Accounting from Strayer University, Chesterfield Campus. Without giving the decision much though, she almost immediately went straight into her MBA in Accounting program, which she is currently working on today. Toni's love of art, music, and charity brought her to be one of the founding members of Project 1.
